Oxnard-- Greetings to everyone, and I hope you’re having a happy Labor Day weekend. It’s better than when I was a child since it was time to start another school year when Labor Day weekend was over.
ADDED to the challenges this weekend is the heat, which is less than wonderful, but the good news is that we live by the water, making me think that people further inland are much warmer than I am.
Despite the heat, I did go out to cover the City of Oxnard’s Cooling Shelter at the Wilson Senior Center Sunday, September 4. People wandered in and out, cooling off for a brief period and enjoying a movie. It made sense to me because spending money to cool your home on a weekend like this can be expensive, but more on that in a little bit.
Anyway, the week’s highlight, to me, was the final Concert by the Sea at Channel Islands Harbor, which closed 2022 with a performance by Ignition, that got The Harbor rocking hard all night.
