Port Hueneme-- The City Council, Tuesday, September 6, approved its 2022-2023 Capital Improvement Project strategic plan.
THE plan reviewed the active and new projects and the fund balances before and after the projects, as well as the fiscal appropriations for all the projects, and reviewed the General Fund’s estimated surplus.
Many of the carryover projects have multi-year components with an annual contribution, like sidewalk repair and water value maintenance. The cross-based pipeline, which is a multi-year project, will be moved to the operating budget.
Finance Director Lupe Acero presented the financials to the Council and estimated the unassigned fund balance and reservation amounts per policy in the General Fund at the end of fiscal year 2022-2023.
“These are the projects previously approved by the Council in Fiscal Year 2022,” she said. “Some of them are active, and some of them have not started. The total amount of appropriations we are carrying forward to Fiscal Year 23 are $12.7 million. Of that amount, $2.82 million is in the general fund.”
She said they’re looking to carry over 38 projects.
“A lot of work went into this CIP planning to incorporate and carry forward the active and new projects,” Acero said.
