Oxnard—The City Council debated into the night but unanimously selected Committee Members during its Tues, Jan 7 meeting.
THE Committees will serve for two years and change to add some diversity and experience for its members.
Mayor Luis McArthur will chair each Committee and selected Gabriela Rodriguez and Council Member Aaron Starr, along with himself sitting on the Committee.
Perez will serve on the Community Services, Public Works, and Housing Committee with Council Member Bert Perello and Mayor Pro Tem Gabe Teran, with McArthur serving as Chair.
Council Member Bert Perello led the discussion and said he’s willing to serve on any Committee but advised McArthur against Chairing all three Committees.
Council Member Gabby Basua said she’d be willing to move from the Finance & Governance Committee to the Public Works Committee.
“I wouldn’t be able to participate much because of my conflict of interest with my Housing position with the City of Port Hueneme,” she said.
Mayor Pro Tem Gabe Teran prefers to continue serving on the Finance & Governance Committee.
