Oxnard—The City Council, Tuesday, October 6, will discuss an agreement with Toro Enterprises for emergency conditions and emergency repairs at the City’s Water System between 700 and 740 Arcturus Avenue.
CHIEF Distribution Manager Joe Camacho presented the report, which said Public Works Director Michael Wolfe has an emergency order to dispense with public bidding requirements under Public Contract Code 22050 to make emergency repairs to the City’s Water System.
The action also authorizes City Manager Alex Nguyen to enter into any contracts required to abate the emergency conditions, permitting emergency repairs to the City’s water system between 700 and 740 Arcturus Avenue.
“It also authorizes Nguyen to execute a public purchase agreement (No. 32700217) with Toro Enterprises for a total amount not exceeding $250,000, and ratify the Director of Public Works, Michael Wolfe's, declaration of an emergency order to dispense with public bidding requirements, pursuant to Public Contract Code section 22050 to make emergency repairs to the City’s water system,” Camacho said.
Oxnard City Code Section 30(B) authorizes the Director of Public Works to order or take any directly related and immediate action required in an emergency without giving notice for bids to let contracts for a public project.
