Oxnard-- In his report to the City Council, Tuesday, January 18, City Manager Alex Nguyen reminded the public that California’s Covid-19 State of Emergency will continue until March 31.
“WE issued this warning last week, but all of the
Covid-19 testing sites are not legitimate,” he said. “As usual, during times of crisis, some people find ways to take advantage of the rest of us, so please be wary of a Covid testing site and make sure that you can confirm it’s a licensed site. Before you get a test, look at either the county or state’s public health website, vcrecovers.org/ testing or covid19.ca.gov/get-tested. You can see the list of valid testing sites in Oxnard and the county. Unfortunately, at some of the scam sites, they’re seeking your personal identification information. In some cases, we’ve heard of people asking for your social security number. That is not something anyone should ask you for when you’re getting a Covid test. They also try and get money out of you.”
He said anyone can now order testing kits.
