Oxnard—The City Council, on Tuesday, September 1, will discuss an emergency order for a sewer collection system repair.
WASTEWATER Division Manager Jan Hauser introduced the item and said Hemlock Street and Patterson Road need sewer system repairs.
He said the Director of Public Works emergency order should be able to dispense with public bidding requirements, pursuant to Public Contract Code section 22050, to make emergency repairs to the City’s sewer collection system.
“Authorize the City Manager to enter into any contracts required to abate the emergency repairs to the City’s sewer collection system on Hemlock Street and Patterson Road and authorize the City Manager to enter into any contract over $220,000 that may be required to abate the emergency,” Hauser said.
He said the Oxnard City Code Section 4-30 (B) (5) authorizes the Director of Public Works to order or take any directly related and immediate public action required in an emergency without giving notice for bids to let contracts for a public project, in conformity with Public Contract Code section 22050.
