Oxnard--Well, lightning has struck again; I’ve had another low blood sugar episode which landed my butt in the hospital.
THIS time I went under, passed out while making breakfast, and woke up in an emergency room. I’ll be happy when my new automated glucometer with the warning alarm arrives.
It’s well-documented how much I dislike going to the doctor, and since I was unconscious, the J-Train told the admitting person to fix me and make me better.
They took advantage of that opening and found things I’ve spoken about before with my less-than-perfect kidneys, not uncommon for a 23-year Type 1 Diabetic, but they did say my blood pressure medication was hurting my kidneys, so I got new medication. Apparently, I’m also anemic and had pneumonia.
That meant a week of lying in the hospital loaded with Intravenous fluids (IVs), having blood drawn from my arms until they were bruised beyond belief, getting visited by a boatload of doctors and nurses, and being told how sick I was.
I finally got out on Friday, and I’m limping back into the game, even though I’m less than 100 percent. I told my staff that I’m like a classic Timex watch;…
