Oxnard--I learned a valuable lesson this past weekend. While it’s always a good idea to operate within your budget, you have to look at the overall cost of owning inexpensive equipment.
LET me explain; I have certain duties as the owner and Publisher that I perform weekly, but there is some office equipment that I bought for cheap that produces low-quality results.
I bought cheap replacement equipment to fix the issue, ultimately leading to the same low-quality results.
It finally hit me on the head; I’m spending more money on being cheap than buying something good. Sigh, another lesson learned.
I started buying cheap during my first marriage, as I downgraded my needs to buy good toys for my sons, you know, The Sarge and the First Responder. That continued after I got divorced, as I didn’t have much money and spent what I had on the guys and did without.
Life is a series of lessons learned, so I’m glad I finally got that through my head. It was challenging since I don’t understand good office equipment, but I got some excellent help.
Thank God there were some excellent community events to cover. I didn’t get to all…
