Oxnard--I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend and enjoyed a lot of Easter candy and Easter Eggs. I loved Easter as a child because we had Easter eggs for breakfast, and after mass, my brother, sister, and I tore into a boatload of chocolate before the family came to the house. It was pure chocolate heaven.
FAST forward to 2023, and my diet and geographic proximity to The Sarge and the First Responder shot a big hole in any big family plans or chocolate heaven. It’s okay; that time is coming soon.
As usual, my day started at 4:30 a.m. in the kitchen, mixing salt-free seasonings as I keep looking for a flavor I can tolerate. Spoiler alert; I’m still looking.
Once I got dinner marinating, I pulled out the duster and attacked the sea of dust on everything. That took a while, but I was loaded with double-caffeine coffee and decided to make the most of my day at home. I streamed some classic movies to keep me company.
