Frosted Thoughts

Oxnard-- What a fun week this past week was. Like always, I was in the community reporting on all the great things that happened in Oxnard and Port Hueneme, starting with the Insect Festival.

I was excited to attend this event and impressed by the huge turnout. The J-Train bugged me all week about coming with me to enjoy the fun.

To me, the highlight of the day was learning about the role insects play in our world, and I have to admit, the insect lunch buffet consumed by City Staff was raucous fun. The most popular insect to eat was the scorpion.

Kids were learning, and that’s a great thing. Feeding a child’s passion for learning is outstanding.

The Hueneme Beach Car Show was terrific as well. I love classic cars, and so does the J-Train, and we had a great morning. Car Club members are always friendly and welcoming.

Onward I rolled and delivered the paper but stopped to get this month’s featured Cat story done at Cassie’s Cats & Kittens in Ventura. Link was a friendly Cat, and when I scratched behind his ear, he licked my finger. He will be a happy couch potato watching…
