Oxnard--I know that I’m a little offbeat, but there are times that I just don’t follow the standard go-along-to-get-along persona.
IT started simple: I’m running out of blood pressure medication, so I called my doctor and asked for a refill and was told that I had to make an office visit first.
I asked why and was told I hadn’t been to the office in quite a while and the doctor needed to check my blood pressure. I reminded them they mandated that I buy a blood pressure cuff, which I did and use, so I thanked them for their concern, but I’m fine and promised to let them know if my blood pressure starts going up.
Well, that didn’t sit well, and when I pointed out that they were running up the bill, they dodged that question and told me they’d send me a 30-day supply, but that’s it.
So once again, healthcare is too expensive, insurance costs are through the roof, and to top everything off, I got a letter this week from my insurance company informing me they are no longer covering my good insulin that works well.
