Port Hueneme—It was cool hot rods and classic fun at Hueneme Beach Sunday, June 3, as the Hueneme Beach Car Show roared into town and delighted all the attendees.
THE event, held by the Port Hueneme Police Department Explorers, also featured music that kept the beat, food trucks with tasty treats, and vendors offering great gifts.
Officer Henry Santelogo runs the Police Cadet Program and said it’s a great event with a great turnout.
“I can’t thank the sponsors enough for helping us with everything,” he said. “I also thank the Explorers who’ve done a lot of hard work. It’s been a great event.”
He said the Explorers are gearing up for their next competition at the end of the month in Modesto.
“We participated in the Chandler Arizona competition at the beginning of the year and brought home three second-place trophies in negotiations, hostage down, and hostage rescue,” he said. “That was against 50 Explorer posts Nationwide.”
He said things are coming together for the upcoming Explorer Academy at the end of the month.
