Port Hueneme-- The Hueneme Beach Festival attracted a huge crowd Saturday and Sunday, August 27 and 28, as thousands of people came out for fun in the sun.
THE two-day event featured two performance stages with live music, lots of rides for the kids to enjoy, artists doing chalk art out front, vendors and local organizations selling treasures and promoting programs, lots of food to satisfy any appetite, and more.
Neil and Keith Coffman-Grey from Neil The Wandmaker said it was their first time at the Hueneme Beach Festival, and they were doing fantastic.
“I have to say, as a magic user, it’s been an enchanting day,” Neil said. “I am the Wandmaker at Neil The Wandmaker.”
He first learned about the Hueneme Beach Festival at the beginning of June. Neil noted the duo has well past 1,700 wands total.
“I’ve been making about 30 wands a month, so I’d say we’ve been busy,” he said. “We’ve also been selling more than ever. At the San Luis Renaissance Faire, we sold 66 wands over the weekend. At the Santa Barbara Solstice, we sold over 50 wands. That depletes your stock. Just those two events were a lot of work…
