Port Hueneme—The Annual Kite Festival drew a great crowd to Hueneme Beach on Saturday, July 26, as families spent the day flying and showing off beautiful, vibrant kites.
THE event is made possible by Port Hueneme Recreation, and they came out to celebrate the day.
Joy Mojica brought her Dog Daytona along to share the day.
“She’s a two-year-old Shih Tzu mix,” she said. We brought a canvas kite design that we purchased a couple of years ago. It has custom colors, and we have several custom colors. My husband is flying mine, which is pink, teal, and purple.”
She said Hueneme Beach is beautiful.
“The weather is perfect, the beaches are clean, people are nice, and it’s very quiet,” she said.
Son Johnny said he loves going to the beach.
“I like the sand,” he said. “I didn’t help with the kite, but I know how to fly a kite.”
