Knights of Columbus boutique merry fun

Oxnard—Unique one-of-a-kind crafts and specialties highlighted the Oxnard Knights of Columbus Council 750’s Holiday Craft Boutique, Sun. Dec. 8.

THE crafters offered plenty of year-round gifts perfect for Christmas morning, a great meal, a raffle, and lots more.

Deputy Grand Knight Michael Hernandez said the money raised sponsors area High Schools in Santa Clara and Saint Anthony’s High School.

“It helps them get programs for events and scholarships,” he said. “We fund their programs.”

He’s involved with Saint Vincent de Paul stores that need help.

“They reach out to the Knights,” he said. “Saint Vincent de Paul helps the homeless with food and clothing. We also do Tootsie Roll drives to help people with disabilities. We do about 12 fundraisers in the community to raise money for the community.”

He said Christmas with the Family is everything.

 

“It’s the birth of our Lord,” he said. “It’s being at Church with our Family is everything. Our Lord and Savior allow us to do these things.”

“Mary” brought a lot of handmade items from home, which she says are made with love.

“I’m a crafter and make blankets, hats, and slippers,” she said. “I get patterns online and buy books.”
