Oxnard—City Clerk Luly Lopez discussed the League of California Cities 2026 Annual Conference voting delegate in advance of the City Council’s Tuesday, September 1 meeting.
THIS year’s League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23.
The League’s annual business meeting will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, September 25, to consider and take action on resolutions that establish League Policy.
The City recommends that the City Council designate Mayor Luis McArthur as the voting delegate and alternate to the League of California Cities Annual Conference and discuss the City’s position on the League’s resolution to establish a working group to evaluate a State Constitutional Amendment or other initiatives to restore local housing and land use authority.
“In order to expedite the conduct of business at this policy-making meeting, each City is asked to designate a voting delegate and voting alternate who will be present at the Business meeting,” Lopez said. “This year, Mayor McArthur will be attending the Conference.”
She said the League will consider a resolution calling for a working group to consider a State Constitutional Amendment or other form of initiative to ensure Final Local Authority over land use decisions.
