Oxnard-- The gang at Hip Hop Mindset’s Dance Studio celebrated Mother’s Day Saturday, May 7, as the Second Annual Mom & Me Class brought kids and Moms together to enjoy the day and win some prizes from Nothing Bundt Cakes, Gift Cards from Target, and a lot more.
THE family-friendly event featured basic Hip Hop dance moves that made the day a grand celebration for mom and the family.
Hip Hop Mindset Founder William Venegas said the event was very popular in 2021, so they brought it back in 2022.
“We keep it at beginner’s level, so it’s nothing too complicated, so the Moms don’t want to quit right away and go home,” he said. “It’s more like fun dance activities for Mother’s Day.”
The dance studio has been open for a couple of months and is a beacon of positive activities for kids, and he said things are going well.
“We’ve had field trips here with the Rio School District,” he said. “They’ve been bussing in kids Monday through Friday. We get about 400-500 kids a week in March and April.”
