Nguyen: “2025 is for the record books”

Oxnard—In his Tuesday, December 16, report to the City Council, City. Manager Alex Nguyen said his report contained no formal content, but he wanted to share comments about 2025.

"I think 2025 will certainly fill the history books for things happening in this Country, but also around the world,” he said. “Unfortunately, there haven’t been many rainbows this year.”

Within Oxnard’s boundary, he said, Oxnard has its own share of problems.

“Here’s hoping for a somewhat realistic 2026,” he said.

Nguyen changed course and shared a festive story about gratitude. “As you know, I live here, and while traveling through town, I engage in pleasant conversation,” he said. “On this day, it was very pleasant, because I ran into Pastor Greg Runyon, and of the three people in the room tonight, he’s still here.”

Nguyen said over the past eight years, he’s enjoyed many sermons delivered by Pastor Runyon.

 

“It even happens at the produce section at the grocery store,” Nguyen said.

Nguyen said that he looked in Runyon’s basket, and saw an opportunity to speak to Runyon about health food.
