ONWARD I ROLL

Oxnard-- So, I had the chance to cover some normal-like events this weekend as Ventura County continues to emerge from the Covid-19 lockdowns.

THE events were fun, and people seemed truly happy about being outside and enjoying the camaraderie once again.

The Celebration of the Whales on Sunday, March 27, was smaller than previous celebrations, but it was fun. I learned some interesting facts, and ultimately, the event helps the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, which is a great organization that serves the community well.

It was fun to reconnect with the people I lost touch with when the pandemic struck. I pulled out Mr. Microphone and got some great interviews. I handed out cards, and I promise to follow up and do some additional stories. I look forward to 2023 when, I hope, the memory of Covid-19 is in the rearview mirror, and people feel more normal.

Saturday, March 26, meant another fun event as Fudi Town rolled into Channel Islands Harbor. There were plenty of vendors, inflatable games for the kids to enjoy, and the star of the day, all the food trucks cooking, serving, and selling specialties.
