Oxnard—During the Tuesday, July 21 City Council meeting, Council Members were out in the community hearing about what’s important to residents.
COUNCIL Member Bert Perello said there was a presentation by the Ventura County Environmental Health Department and sidewalk food vendors.
“It was pointed out how severe the issue is about people selling food on the sidewalks, and they made a tremendous presentation,” he said. “I have no knowledge, but I assume some of my Council Members would be interested in having that presentation here. If the City has interest, they offered to make the presentation.”
Recently, he said the Council was informed the City of Oxnard prevailed in a lawsuit with Council Member Aaron Starr.
“After his appeals and denials, we were awarded $26,000 for costs,” Perello said.
“The Fox Canyon Groundwater Agency will be holding a meeting and residents; there is a very strong reason to fight for your water rights. With your water rights, there are various terms about potable; we’re talking about drinking water. There is going to be a reduction in the water we can get.
