Oxnard-- In his report to the City Council Tuesday, September 6, City Manager Alex Nguyen said community updates regarding COVID are still available on the County and City’s website.
“WE still encourage people to go and get the vaccine,” he said. “There will also be mobile vaccines continuing. Pharmacies, such as Vons, continue to offer vaccines for free, so you schedule one there as well, and if you have your own healthcare provider.”
He said the Oxnard Employee Pipeline starts at Oxnard College on Monday, September 12.
“You can take a few classes at Oxnard College and get training,” he said. “They have financial aid available, and with the partnership between the City, Chamber, and the College, you are guaranteed an interview when you successfully complete the program.”
The EPA Halaco Engineering Company Superfund is coming to the South Oxnard Center from 6:30 till 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15.
“This is a technocratic type of meeting,” Nguyen said. “They are going to review and answer questions regarding the Superfund process and discuss the toxic dirt that is there. This is not a meeting to discuss all other issues related to Halaco.”
