Oxnard—Public Comments during the Tuesday, July 21, City Council meeting began with Alexis Schmidt, Chair of the East Village Neighborhood Council, who said they were recently assigned a new Beat Coordinator, Mike Cole.
“I’M not able to get in contact with him for a few months,” Schmidt said. “There are several complaints, and he didn’t come to our last Neighborhood Council Meeting.”
Cole was invited to National Night Out, and Schmidt didn’t hear back.
“I’m hearing from other people in the neighborhood that they are also not hearing back from him, and now I’m hearing a higher volume of complaints,” she said. “I would appreciate at least a line of contact, so we, as the neighborhood, can at least be informed.”
Council Member Bert Perello asked Schmidt to share the information with the Assistant City Manager.
