Ventura—During his Tuesday, August 18, report to the City Council, City Manager Bill Ayub said the City held a second State of the City with the Chamber of Commerce.
“IT was a ticketed breakfast at the Crowne Plaza, and it was the morning of September 17,” he said. “We have upcoming street maintenance starting later this month. The City will begin slurry seal maintenance on several major streets, including Thompson Boulevard, Hone Road, Main Street, Telephone Road, Telegraph Road, and Kimball Road.”
“Slurry Seal is a protective seal that helps preserve pavement, and it extends the life of the street by six to eight years,” he added. “Work will continue through early December, and there will be temporary lane closures and some nighttime work.”
He said residents and businesses in affected areas will receive mail postcards, and additional information and project details will be available on the City’s website.
“Our waterfront notice of availability: this is the old parking structure on Harbor Boulevard next to the Crowne Plaza,” he said. “A notice of availability closed on August 3, and no responses were received for the surplus land or open space notices.”
