Oxnard-- In his Tuesday, January 4, report to the city council, City Manager Alex Nguyen reminded the public that the State of California extended the state’s COVID state of emergency to last through March due to the Omicron surge.
“The state is redoubling efforts to provide testing sites,” he said. “The most important place to get updated information day to day is at the county’s website, vcrecovers.org. They are rotating these facilities throughout the county, so the information could change. Please, on a daily basis, if you need to get a test, go to vcrecovers.org to find the nearest availability that is convenient for you.”
He noted that vaccinations are highly encouraged and continue to be available.
“The best place to get daily updated information about those facilities is at myturn.ca.gov,” he said. “The information is also at the county’s VC Recovers website.”
He said with municipal closures the city is doing what is prevalent across many cities to limit the interaction between the staff and public.
