Vendors make Winter Market Special

Oxnard—Part two of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Winter Market continues with event Chair April Rodriguez selling soaps and items to make someone look 20 years younger.

"MY soaps have shea butter and oatmeal, and candlelight makes you look better and feel younger, but I don’t have a magic wand,” she said.

Kelly Larsen has stuff to color, stress balls, which offer arthritis relief.

“We have designs we put on peg boards and iron them, and they make different pictures, like Snoopy,” she said. “I like to make love pillows, they are little hearts, and we also make soft footballs to throw if the other team is winning, so there is no damage.”

She used to make scarves, and has a few left over.

“My Aunt is selling Michael Kors purses, and I love making little lanyard keychains for ladies who have a hard time finding their keys in their purses, which have a distinct feel.”

 

She started crafting with her best friend when she was a little girl, and her friend moved to Texas.

“When I heard the boutique was coming up, I grabbed the stuff I made and brought it here,” she said.
