Zaragoza delivers positive State of the City

Oxnard-- Mayor John Zaragoza delivered his State of the City Address to the West Ventura County Business Alliance Friday, June 17, and the event was hailed as hugely successful. Investment Policy.

ZARAGOZA thanked the Alliance for allowing him the opportunity to tell the group about all the good things in the City that are going on. He told the packed house that Oxnard has one of the best City Councils, the best one he’s ever worked with.

“The results that you’ll see today and in the future reflect the leadership of the Council and City Staff,” he said. “Ladies and Gentlemen, despite the ebb and flow of the pandemic, we are witnessing significant, positive changes throughout the city.”

Zaragoza said in 2021, the City Council approved its five-year priorities and identified 25 important items, infrastructure and natural resources, quality of life, economic development, public safety, and organizational effectiveness.

He said in terms of infrastructure and natural resources, the City is looking to restore a proper street paving cycle, restore the proper maintenance of parkways and medians, ensure an adequate future water supply and repair the alleys and seawalls.
