Ventura—In his report on Tuesday, August 26, City Manager Bill Ayub said the 9/11 Stair Climb, hosted by the Ventura Honor Guard, is 11 days away.
“It takes place at 8 a.m. Sunday, September 7, at Crowne Plaza,” he said. “It’s at our beautiful Promenade along the beach.”
He said participants will climb the equivalent of 110 stories.
“This symbolized the Twin Towers, honoring those lost on September 11,” he said. “Space is limited, but spots are still available. The proceeds support the Honor Guard’s mission to honor the fallen. You can learn more by looking at the City’s website.”
Mayor Dr Jeanette Sanchez- Placios will deliver the City’s annual State of the City Address.
“That is going to be a fun time,” Ayub said. “I’m really excited to announce the long-awaited improvements at the north side of the pedestrian overpass. That will go from the pier to Ash and Front streets.”
He said the coastline development required improvements, which are the new oceanfront condominiums and apartments along the north side of San Jone and Ash.
“The improvements are to make access to the parking area and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) access across the railroad tracks,” he said.…
