Oxnard--The Public Works & Transportation Committee, Tuesday, May 23, approved the fourth amendment with Big Truck Rental LLC (BTR) to rent refuse collection trucks.
THE amendment is for $1.294 million, with the new total not exceeding $4.463 million for an additional 12 months.
Assistant Public Works Director Brian Yanez presented the amendment and said the City Council approved agreement A-8221 with Amrep to rent seven commercial refuse collection vehicles, and on October 20, 2020, Amrep legally transferred the agreement to Big Truck Rental.
“The original agreement was on June 3, 2020, and the first amendment was June 15, 2021,” he said. “The second amendment was June 30, 2021. The third amendment will take place June 30, 2023.”
He said the ER Division (Environmental Resources) wants to amend the contract with BTR because the refuse vehicles are aging. ER, and the Fleet Staff will pursue alternative options, like purchasing collection vehicles, to determine the best option for ER Operations.
“The intent to rent refuse collection vehicles is for maintenance and repairs and unforeseen breakdowns while waiting on purchases due to long lead times,” he said. “This fourth amendment allows for uninterrupted daily refuse collection services for residential and commercial customers.…
