Bubbling Springs Park faces inflation issues

Port Hueneme--The City Council authorized a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Bubbling Springs Park Renewal Project during its Monday, November 6 meeting.

THE Council adop­ted a resolution accep­ting $7.5 million from the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization (SPP) grant to construct the Bubbling Springs Park Renewal Project.

For the City to be eligible to receive grant funding, the project must renovate four multi-use ballfields, expand one ballfield, and construct ballfield lighting.

Sports Plaza must have a concession/community room/ storage building and restroom building and construct two multi-use soccer/football fields with seating, fencing, and lighting.

Bubbling Springs will have a new inclusive playground and must construct two picnic areas with shade structures, public art with interpretive signage, a small/large dog park; renovate landscaping throughout the park; construct exercise stations on walking circuits throughout the park; construct accessible walkways throughout the park; and renovate northeast parking lot to make ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Accessible.

 

City Manager James Vega noted that most of the people attending the meeting are working on the project.
