Ventura—The mood is tremendous at Cassie’s Cats and Kittens as Volunteers and Founder Jennifer Thompson plan for a future full of growth.
FOR over four years, Jennifer and her dedicated group have offered love, compassion, and friendship to fur-babies in need of a good home.
“There was some uncertainty, some concern when we started,” Jennifer said. “Because of the COVID shutdown, we could not do anything that first year.”
The group hosted a meet-and-greet for people who follow Cat lovers on Social Media and said that people came to see the individuals behind the non-profit and raise money by selling our “chachis.”
“At the beginning, it wasn’t as easy as it might be since we had no track record to fall back on,” she said. The Santa Maria and Santa Paula shelters worked with us.
“After establishing ourselves, we started pulling from the Los Angeles shelter and the Upper Valley shelter,” she said. “We had an idea of what types of Cats would do well in a place like this. Our mission is to give the Cats a nice home without compromises.”
