CCS builds strong Oxnard

Oxnard—On Tuesday, January 20, the City Council heard a Cultural and Community Services Department update on the department’s functions, priorities, challenges, and anticipated future needs.

Cultural and Community Services (CCS) Director Terrell Harrison presented the update, and he brought plenty of people to answer questions.

“I am happy to be here tonight, not only to present the good hard work of our department, but I’m excited because my Mother said I would be able to say something tonight,” he said. “We consulted with the City Attorney’s Office. Our Mission, Vision, and Values promote lifelong learning, foster civic pride, and enhance Oxnard’s Quality of Life through extraordinary cultural, recreational, and educational programs and services.”

Harrison’s Department vision is to strengthen minds and bodies, create memorable experiences, and build a better future for the City.

“Our core values are respect, compassion with our customers, and collaboration with our partners,” he said. “We celebrate diversity within the City of Oxnard, and we also deliver services with integrity.”

He said the community trusts the City with their two most valuable assets. “Their children and their parents who are seniors,” he said.
