Ventura—In his Tuesday, September 16, report to the City Council, City Manager Bill Ayub said the City is getting ready for its State of the City Message.
“This is a little different this year; it will be at City Hall starting at 4 p.m. with a street festival, Touch a Truck, music and dancing, then followed by a presentation by the Mayor at 6 p.m.,” he said.
There will be materials in English and Spanish, and the City’s website has more information. The Annual Coastal Cleanup is Saturday, September 20, and residents have the opportunity to sign up and make the coast more beautiful.

“We will have a City team on the promenade, and we’ll make it spic-and-span,” he said. “I hope to see everyone there.”
After more than five years of public input, engagement, and discussion, he said they are approaching the last two opportunities on their general plan.
“On Wednesday, September 24, there will be a Planning Commission plan adoption meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.in the community meeting room at City Hall,” he said. “There will also be a meeting on Tuesday, October 21, right here from 5-7 p.m. in this room.”
