We are back at the smoker and this time with a recipe I can call a winner. Well I think all my recipes are a winner but this one in particular was my best ever tri tip. Tri tip can be a tricky cut of meat to cook.
BUT if you have a smoker at your disposal, this method is gonna treat you right every time.
Ingredients
• Tri Tip
• 2-3 Tablespoons salt
• ½ Tablespoon pepper
• Meat thermometer (recommended)
To Cook
Marinate your tri tip with the salt and pepper. Let marinate for at least 3 hours for the best result. You can also marinate in a refrigerator overnight. Get your smoker to about 225-230 degrees. Place meat in the smoker and let smoke until you reach an internal temperature of 135 for medium rare, 145 for medium, or 155 for medium well. Pull off the smoker and let rest in aluminum foil for 10-15 minutes. This allows the juices to lock into the meat. Slice thinly and serve. EAT!
