Port Hueneme --The City Council discussed concessions and approved an amended cost abatement for Port Hueneme Little League at Bubbling Springs Park Monday, March 6, as the location gets improved.
The Council eliminated the $6,637 cost of the infield mix fee to the Little League but retained the transactional fee for the lease agreement for the League to have the exclusive ongoing use of the fields at Bubbling Springs Park and receives a $1 fee, so the transaction stays in place.
The City’s SPP Grant mandates renovating funding at four Multi-Use Ballfields, expanding one Ballfield, and constructing Ballfield lighting.
During renovations, the Snack Bar at Sports Plaza will not be available, which led to a discussion and report by Community Services and Recreation Programs Manager Anna Hanely about alternatives, who said purchasing a mobile food facility ranges from $25,000 to $82,000 without preparation equipment costs. The true projection is difficult to define until on-site reviews are coordinated amongst Recreation Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Staff.
