Oxnard-- The City Council, Tuesday, February 1, approved an agreement with Taft Electric Company for the Traffic Signal Modification Project.
The agreement will modify seven signals and totals approximately $3.6 million and allocates $299,990 for engineering, inspection, survey, and project management and $299,900 for project contingencies.
The budget appropriation for the project recognizes grant revenue and the appropriation of $860,783 from the Federal Transportation Grant Fund (275) and the appropriation of $954,145 from the fund balance of the Air Pollution Buydown Fee Fund (118).
City Engineer Tatiana Arnaout presented the item, and she said the seven signals are located throughout the city.
“We have a couple that are close to downtown, one off Ventura Road, another down at Channel Islands Boulevard, and also we have one at Oxnard Boulevard and Date Street, and finally we have one at Channel Islands and Statham as well as Gisler Avenue,” she said.
Arnaout showed the audience photos of the signal poles that look old, outdated, and need an upgrade.
