Ventura-- The Board of Supervisors, Tuesday, March 22, has selected CPS HR Consulting to recruit a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The need arose when former Chief Executive Officer Mike Powers stepped down from his post.
Assistant CEO and Human Resources Director Shawn Atin presented the item to the Supervisors, and he said there is no mandatory process to conduct the recruitment.
“Based on what we have done previously, we went out to the market and looked at executive search firms who have experience in the California market as well as the local market,” he said. “Myself and staff looked at eight firms. Based on their experience and price points and interviews that we had with them, we selected three for your review. Once selected, they will conduct the recruitment independently and collaborate with you.”
He said Human Resources would act as facilitators and set up appointments.
“We’re recusing ourselves from the process,” he said. “It will be your show with the recruiter and the timeline they present to you.”
He said the three firms are CPS HR Consulting, Wendy Brown CPE Inc., and Peckham & McKenney.
