Eagles Day celebrates Worthy Causes & Traditions

Oxnard—The Oxnard Eagles had a full day of activities on Sunday, June 1, starting with the Scrambled Crew serving breakfast, including a variety of tasty omelets, sausage, bacon, and ham, along with plenty of juice and coffee.

THE afternoon marked the transition to its new leadership, led by Michele Two Coats, who loves the sense of family and community action, and feels at home as the new Madam President.

Two Coats plans to bring everyone together and make them feel at home.

“We’ve had problems with people re-engaging,” she said. “This year, we’re bringing back our fundraisers for cancer, diabetes, the Children’s Fund, and many others.

Al Howard stays on as the Worthy President.

Scrambled Crew Leader Shelly Knappenberger leads an all-volunteer group in the kitchen.

“Myself, Tracy, and Susan are the adults, and the rest of the crew consists of people in High School and Junior College,” Shelly said. ”It’s a way for us to teach them a life skill and also remind them to give back to the community.”
