Port Hueneme--The Orvene S. Carpenter Community Center was a hotbed of fun and pure revelry Saturday, April 8, as the City’s Eggstravaganza Celebration was full of adventure, knowledge, fun, and candy.
CHILDREN enjoyed having their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny, petted and learned about farm animals, got their faces painted, and received a free book while waiting to grab the treat-filled Easter Eggs on the lawn.
Port Hueneme Recreation Coordinator Taylor Penny said the event came together easily, and she loved the big turnout.
“It’s an annual event,” she said. “We added a couple of features this year, the bubbles and the pictures of the Easter Bunny. We have Recreation events coming up, and the Library is here giving books away. We also have Face Painting and the Petting Zoo.”
She said the eggs for the Kids came pre-filled, which saves time.
“This is the kickoff to the end of Winter,” she said. “We have a lot of things planned for the City this summer, movie nights, and our Touch a Truck in the fall again. We have lots of cool things coming this year.”
