Ventura—The Board of Supervisors presented the results of its project on Tuesday, September 22. David Ward, Planning Director of the Resource Management Agency, began with a five-year vision.
“IT started with our Farmworkers and grew with our County family, as well as our Cities across the County into a major regional collaborative endeavor,” he said. “In the spirit of that collaboration, there will be a shared presentation with Executive Director Gabrielle Vignone, with the House Farm Workers Project, planning manager Ruchita Kadakia and myself.”
He said their action plan and study began in 2021 and was called program HE-E.
“It was initiated in 2021, in collaboration with all 10 Cities, and in partnership with local nonprofit House Farm Workers,” he said. “We successfully acquired State, Regional, and Local Grants.”
He said they are in phases four and five, and he anticipates it will have a Countywide impact.
Vignone said the project is a County effort to meet farmworkers' housing needs and identify actions to increase housing across Ventura County for farmworkers and their families.
