Port Hueneme—The City Council brought Dianne Fresh on Tuesday, February 17, and presented her with a certificate for her dedication and passion for the City.
Councilmember Steven Gama invited the Hueneme High School Band to add some music to the presentation, which the band provided after the Certificate Presentation.
“In recognition and honor of your outstanding philanthropy, your steadfast commitment to youth empowerment, compassion, service to individuals, and families in need, I, Council Member Steven Gama, express my sincere gratitude for your leadership, generosity, and enduring contributions to our community,” he said. “We celebrate you as an inspiration to others.”
The presentation was followed by a live performance that drew warm applause from the crowd.
“A couple of years ago, when Jasmine Keys was hired, there were nine people in the band,” Gama said. “With Jasmine’s hard work and Dianne’s support, look at this band. We are inspired by you, and I couldn’t think of a better way of honoring Dianne.”
Gama offered Dianne the microphone, and she told him she has a teacher’s voice.
