Group picnic user fees approved

Oxnard--The Finance and Governance Committee approved new user fees for two new group picnic sites within Community Facilities District 7 at Wagon Wheel on April 11 and moved the issue to the full City Council.

The recommended rate for Wagon Wheel Picnic Area 1 is $30 a day with a $50 refundable deposit, and the rate for Wagon Wheel Picnic Area is $15 a day.

Project Manager Anthony Miller presented the video and said the Community Facilities District oversees and manages rights of way, Landscape Maintenance Districts, Community Facilities Districts, and Waterway Districts throughout Oxnard.

“On July 24, 2018, Oxnard passed Resolution 15164, adopting park reservation fees,” he said. “The fees included a refundable security deposit and a fee to cover City costs incurred for the Public’s reservation and personal use of certain park facilities.”

He said conditions to approve the Wagon Wheel Development included constructing park facilities, including picnic tables, trash cans, and shade structures. The facilities were completed in 2021 for the public’s use.
