Oxnard—The Finance and Governance Committee, Tuesday, Feb. 25, approved an addendum agreement with Hinderlitter de Llamas and Associates (HdL).
The agreement will come from the General Fund for $64,155 and has evolved to a team of former local government professionals, exclusive data, and tech-enabled resources that continue to put cities, counties, and special districts on the path to achieving their financial goals through efficiency, diversified revenue streams, and tailored plans for economic success.
Chief Financial Officer Javier Chagoyen-Lazaro said the City agreed on Jan. 30, 2017, and expires on June 30, 2023.
“HdL previously performed sales and T&U tax analysis, audit, and recovery services,” he said. “HdL. has performed audits of sales and T&U,” he said. “T&U is guaranteed 15 percent of the amount recovered during the audit process for consecutive quarters and, if the audit favors the City, will save the City $400,000.”
Council Member Aaron Starr asked how the City would benefit from this.
“Can we do this ourselves,” he said.
