Ventura-- It may not have been the best or driest January day last Sunday, but that didn’t stop the Hot Rodders at Antique Adventures, who came out and had a great time, along with some coffee and donuts on the eighth.
TOM Berger from the Pharoahs Car Club brought his 1937 Ford Slant Back out and said some people haven’t been showing up lately.
“They’re afraid of a little rain,” he said. “They think their car is going to get wet; what am I going to do? You take them home and dry them off.”
He said the Pharoahs Car Club will have a great 2023.
“We have 15,000 members,” he said. “We’re not going anywhere. It started in 1948.”
He enjoys a Sunday morning donut.
“I like the buttermilk ones and the apple fritters,” he said. “The creme-filled ones are good too.”
He doesn’t call the group a club.
“Everybody knows everybody,” he said. “We’re visiting with friends. Some of these guys I’ve known since I was a kid.”
