Oxnard-- The Planning Commission Thursday, August 17, received zoning text amendments to implement the adopted 2021-2029 Housing Element.
Planning & Environmental Services Manager Joe Pearson II presented the video accompanied by Contract Planner Heather Davis and said the Code is made from Chapter 16 of the Oxnard City Code (OCC).
The Community Development Department filed the application.
“In October 2022, Oxnard’s six-cycle 2021-2029 Housing Element was adopted by the City Council and certified by the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD),” Pearson said. “The programs identified in the City’s Housing Element establishes the City’s commitment to strategies to meet housing needs and comply with State Housing law.”
He said Housing Code Amendments for the fiscal year 2022-23 bring the Oxnard City Code into compliance with State Housing Laws, including Programs Six for zoning code amendments, Nine for farmworker housing, program 22 for special needs groups 27, for parking standards, and program 32 for Senate Bill 35.
