Hueneme Beach Festival Budget approved

Port Hueneme--On a 3-1 vote, the City Council approved the budget for the Hueneme Beach Festival Monday, April 17.

The Hueneme Beach Festival takes place from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. August 26-27 and will have the same layout as 2022.

Community Development Manager Steve Kinney led off the discussion and said the Festival’s budget has key issues that need review.

The Festival will feature live music on the Main Stage and Toni Young Community Stage, Carnival Rides, Arts & Crafts, a chalk art exhibition, Community Booths, a sand sculpture, great food, and cold drinks.

The City proposed an admission charge for the first time, $10 for adults, $5 for Seniors and Veterans, and kids ages 12 and under. Parking is free.

“This is a change from last year when there was free admission, but the parking was $10,” he said. “The proceeds benefit REACH, which supports community organizations like the Senior Holiday Luncheon, Reel Guppies, Cops for Tots, the Hueneme School District, Navy ROTC, the Hueneme Beach Clean-up, and the Commemorative Brick Display.”
