Oxnard--Oxnard College, the City of Oxnard, and the West Ventura County Business Alliance joined forces, Friday, November 19, to hold a free Job Fair for area residents.and commercial setting.
THE event at Oxnard College put area businesses in touch with job seekers looking for their next great challenge.
Attendees were greeted at the entrance by Economic Development Manager Rosie Ornelas, who said the Job Fair is really important. The group also had water and coffee available, courtesy of Starbucks on Fifth and B Street.
“We’re hearing from our local businesses that they’re struggling to find workers,” she said. “We wanted to make sure that we gave them the opportunity to have a Job Fair where they can meet a lot of job seekers. We put this together quickly, and there are a lot of employers here. It shows the need for employees.”
She said the Job Fair attracted around 57 companies, all ready to meet and greet the job seekers.
