Oxnard--The City Council Tuesday, September 5, approved an agreement with Toro Enterprises and will resurface streets in Kamala Park and Bartolo Square South.
THE project will use $4.17013 million in project funds and $3.4751 million for the project, along with a $347,511 contingency fund, 10 percent of the project.
Assistant City Engineer Christopher Solis presented the agreement and said the street resurfacing project is an ongoing Capital Improvement Program Project that addresses multiple City locations over multiple years.
“At this time, the majority of the streets within the neighborhoods require preventative and corrective work and need resurfacing,” he said. “The average pavement condition index is between 50-60. Pavement resurfacing in the form of micro surfacing will be applied to good streets.”
He said the streets in Kamala Park have a lot of alligator cracking and require pothole repairs, and Bartolo Square South requires a lot of patching and also has alligator cracking.
“The notice to invite public bids was published June 8, and the bids were due and opened June 28,” Solis said. “Only one bid was received and evaluated. The sole bid was from Toro Enterprises for $3,475,111,72 and was found to be responsive to the City’s notice…
