Oxnard-- The Public Works & Transportation Committee approved the trade services amendment with Garcia’s Landscaping Maintenance Inc. during its October 11 meeting.
The agreement will affect the landscape and ballfield maintenance at the Riverpark CFD (Community Facilities District) 5.
Special District Division Project Manager Anthony Miller presented the video to the public and committee and said the agreement total will increase from $3.120 million to a not to exceed total of $4.301 million, which includes the two percent increase agreed upon originally and extends the term until November 5, 2023.
He said the CFD 5 contains landscaping improvements, adds value, and enhances the aesthetic qualities in the District. All parcels in the CFD are assessed for landscape maintenance within CFD 5.
“On November 6, 2019, the City and Garcia’s Landscape Maintenance Incorporated entered into the current agreement for the landscape and ballfield maintenance in CFD 5,” he said. “This agreement contained an option to extend its term for up to two additional years.”
Miller said with cost increases, the staff believes extending the current agreement would be more cost-effective than rebidding the bid.
