Oxnard-- In his Tuesday, February 15 report to the city council, Alex Nguyen said the mask mandate is lifted, but there are a few caveats.
He said masks will be required in specified settings, including public transit, indoors at schools for kindergarten through the 12th grade, child care, emergency shelters, heating and cooling centers, healthcare settings, correctional facilities and detention centers, homeless shelters, and senior care facilities.
“Only unvaccinated persons are required to mask in all indoor public settings,” he said. “Fully vaccinated individuals are recommended to continue indoor masking when the risk may be high.”
He said Ventura County is also lifting the indoor mask order in alignment with the state’s order.
“Also, due to the decrease in demand for the Covid-19 testing, the two-county testing sites in Oxnard and Moorpark will close on Sunday, February 20,” he said. “To locate any other valid testing sites, please visit www.vcrecovers.org/ testing.”
Nguyen said the city’s facilities have reopened to the public for in-person services during the regular hours of operation.
“In terms of our staff, we will continue wearing the masks when we have interactions with each other and the public at least through the end of this month,”…
