Meet Rabbi Dov Muchnik

Oxnard--Rabbi Dov studied in rabbinical colleges in New York and Israel, and his internship included community service in the Former Soviet Union and South Africa.

He was ordained by the Chief Rabbi of Israel. He and his wife of 20 years, Racheli, founded the Chabad of Oxnard Jewish Center in 2003, where Oxnard residents and visitors can learn about and celebrate Jewish traditions in a warm and welcoming environment. He and his wife host prayer services, Shabbat meals, holiday celebrations, classes, women’s events, lectures, senior programs, youth services, and more.

Rabbi Dov is a member of the Oxnard Police Department Interfaith Network and became a Chaplain for the Oxnard Police Department in 2020.

In this role, he offers a listening ear, advice, comfort, and specialized guidance to those in need. In his own words, his favorite thing about being a police Chaplain is… “Supporting the men and women who put their lives on the line to serve our community.”
